Job description

Industrial Coating Quality Technician – Support Quality and Safety on Every Project

Martin Painting & Coating Co. is looking for a detail-oriented Industrial Coating Quality Technician to support quality activities on commercial and industrial painting and coating projects.

This position is suited for someone who enjoys field-based work, pays close attention to details, and takes pride in helping ensure projects meet established quality requirements.

Position Summary

The Industrial Coating Quality Technician supports inspections and documentation throughout the surface preparation and coating process. This role works closely with project supervisors and field crews to identify quality concerns and help ensure work is completed according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with inspections during surface preparation and coating activities.

  • Check prepared surfaces before coating application.

  • Monitor coating application for consistency and workmanship.

  • Assist with coating thickness measurements when required.

  • Document observations and quality information.

  • Identify areas that may require correction or additional work.

  • Communicate quality concerns to supervisors.

  • Help verify that work follows project requirements.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Support field crews with quality-related requirements.

  • Help maintain organized jobsite conditions.

  • Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.

Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial painting, commercial painting, coatings, construction, or quality control preferred.

  • Knowledge of surface preparation and coating application is beneficial.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working in commercial and industrial environments.

  • Comfortable working at heights when required.

  • Ability to use a smartphone for communication and documentation.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work at least two weekends per month.

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
