Job description

Seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a growing Endocrinology team just north of Portland, Maine, providing comprehensive outpatient care for adult patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders in a collaborative specialty setting.

Position Highlights
  • Provide outpatient endocrine care for adult patients (18+)
  • Manage diabetes, thyroid disease, and other endocrine disorders
  • Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing within scope of practice
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for chronic endocrine conditions
  • Provide diabetes education, lifestyle counseling, and preventive care guidance
  • Manage insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and insulin pumps
  • Participate in shared medical appointments (SMAs) as lead or co‑lead provider
  • Collaborate closely with endocrinology physicians and care team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health records
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Nurse Practitioner certification or Physician Assistant certification
  • Active and unrestricted state licensure (or eligibility) in Maine
  • BLS certification required and maintained
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an NP/PA required in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
  • Experience managing insulin regimens, CGMs, and insulin pump therapy strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
