Job Contributions
  • Manages the operations of a small branch library
  • Works at the customer service desk, answers questions, provides readers' advisory, and responds to customer concerns
  • Supervises subordinate staff to include scheduling, training, assigning work, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations
  • Schedules staff for work shifts and at the customer service desk
  • Plans and conducts programs for the public
  • Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations, including monitoring branch budget for part-time staff and supplies, and overseeing maintenance, safety, and security of the branch
  • Assists customers with digital devices
  • Promotes Library District products and material types for use by customers
  • Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hiring staff
  • Maintains a vibrant and attractive collection by employing merchandising techniques, presenting engaging displays, and following adopted collection maintenance practices
  • Implements, monitors, and reports results of strategic initiatives developed for the Library District

Working Conditions
  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and requires walking/standing to a significant degree
  • Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
