Description
The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty pool in Psychology. This posting will remain open for up to one year to build a pool of qualified candidates who may be considered for future teaching opportunities as departmental needs arise. Assignments may include day or evening courses and are expected to be delivered at Husson University's Bangor campus.
The Psychology program serves students pursuing careers in mental health, healthcare, human services, rehabilitation, business, and related fields. We seek instructors who are committed to student-centered teaching and helping students develop a strong foundation in psychological theory, research, and practice.
Example of Duties
Adjunct instructors in Psychology may be considered to teach courses in the following areas:
- General Psychology - An introductory course that survey the major areas of psychology, including biological bases of behavior, learning, cognition, development, personality, social behavior, and psychological disorders.
- Human Growth and Development - Focused on the study of human development across the lifespan. Topics include physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development as well as the environmental, cultural, and biological influences that shape individuals from infancy through late adulthood.
- Behavior Modification - Courses that explore principles of behavior change, learning theory, and evidence-based strategies for modifying behavior across educational, clinical, and community settings.
- Diversity and Multiculturalism - Courses that examine cultural, social, and individual differences and their implications for psychological theory, research, and professional practice.
- Gerontology - Courses focused on the psychological, social, and biological aspects of aging and the experiences of older adults.
- Introduction to Counseling and Psychotherapy - Courses introducing major counseling theories, therapeutic approaches, helping skills, and ethical considerations in counseling practice.

- An earned Master's degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required.

- Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: Up to $1,100.00 per credit hour*
- Master's Prepared: $1,150.00 per credit hour
- Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,250.00 per credit hour
*Compensation is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the assigned course.
