Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary’s office is actively hiring for a TIPS Support Senior Analyst to join the team.  This position reports to the Manager, Production Accounting in the Accounting & Corporate Controller team, part of Pembina’s Financial Services division.

The Accounting & Corporate Controller team provides financial reporting and accounting leadership across Pembina and is responsible for the preparation and compilation of Pembina's consolidated financial statements, notes, MD&A, and operational highlights. The team is also responsible for establishing and ensuring adherence to accounting policies, review and analysis of new accounting standards and interpretations, accounting for capital assets, legal entity reporting and regulatory compliance and maintaining SAP FI/CO data integrity. 

As the Senior Analyst, you are responsible for the stewardship, administration, and continuous improvement of the TIPS production accounting system, ensuring accurate contract maintenance, master data governance, billing setup integrity, and effective support for Production Accounting, Commercial, Operations, and Finance stakeholders. As the subject matter expert, you will lead system enhancements, testing, internal controls, and process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across Production Accounting.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

TIPS System Administration & Support

  • Serve as the senior TIPS subject matter expert, administering and maintaining system master data, contracts, rates, pricing, allocations, downtime factors, receipt points, and invoicing configurations to support accurate production accounting operations;
  • Review, validate, and implement approved TIPS Change Requests while ensuring appropriate documentation and audit trails are maintained;
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and coordinate resolution with Information Services, vendors, and business stakeholders; and
  • Provide ongoing user support and technical guidance to Production Accountants, Supervisors, Commercial teams, and Operations personnel.

 

Master Data Governance & Controls

  • Ensure all system updates comply with established governance, authorization, and internal control requirements;
  • Maintain supporting documentation, change logs, approvals, and evidence for audit and compliance purposes; and
  • Conduct periodic reviews of system configurations and support internal controls, SOX compliance, testing, and audit activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

Contract & Commercial Support

  • Partner with Commercial representatives to implement new contracts, amendments, pricing changes, and receipt point updates;
  • Translate commercial agreements into accurate TIPS configurations and validate system setups to ensure correct invoicing and revenue allocation; and
  • Assist with the resolution of customer and joint venture billing inquiries resulting from system configuration or contract interpretation issues. 

Testing & Project Delivery

  • Lead business testing for TIPS enhancements, upgrades, and production releases while supporting system integration, acquisitions, facility startup, and business transformation initiatives; and
  • Develop and execute test plans/scenarios, validation procedures, and user acceptance testing to support successful TIPS deployments and system enhancements.

 

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement processes, automation, and governance improvements to enhance data quality, workflow efficiency, and system performance; and
  • Develop and maintain procedures, training, and documentation while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance Production Accounting operational excellence.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with Production Accounting, Commercial, Operations, Information Services, Finance, and Audit teams; and
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions on system functionality and enhancements and deliver recommendations and analytical insights to support informed business decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas, ideally within Production Accounting, Revenue Accounting, Commercial Operations, or Business Systems;
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA), or progress toward completion, is considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated experience supporting TIPS or similar production accounting systems, including system configuration, commercial agreement implementation, audit, governance, and internal control activities;
  • Possess advanced knowledge of production accounting, revenue allocation, contract administration, invoicing, and master data management, with a strong understanding of change control practices;
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with experience in testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and enterprise reporting tools such as SAP, SharePoint, and Power BI;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business outcomes;
  • Detail-oriented and customer-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ensure accurate and compliant TIPS administration through effective governance, audit controls, and timely implementation of system changes; and
  • Drive stakeholder satisfaction, process improvements, and system enhancements that improve the efficiency, reliability, and effectiveness of production accounting operations.
