Software Engineering Manager | Agile Delivery | SDLC | Hybrid (Atlanta, GA)

Applied Resource Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for a 6-month renewable contract supporting a large enterprise insurance modernization initiative. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring onsite work in Atlanta, GA on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

This role is ideal for a technical leader who started their career in software engineering and has progressed into engineering management or software delivery leadership. The successful candidate will lead Agile delivery across multiple engineering teams while partnering with architects, developers, product leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver complex enterprise software solutions.

  • 6-Month Contract (Renewable)


Responsibilities
  • Lead Agile software delivery for enterprise engineering teams.

  • Drive execution of modernization initiatives while supporting ongoing production and operational work.

  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Architects, Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Business Leaders.

  • Coordinate priorities, dependencies, sprint commitments, and release planning across multiple teams.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and release planning.

  • Identify and remove delivery blockers and technical risks.

  • Track sprint metrics, delivery health, team capacity, and engineering KPIs.

  • Communicate delivery status, risks, and roadmap progress to executive leadership.

  • Balance competing business priorities while maintaining predictable software delivery.

  • Champion continuous improvement across Agile processes and engineering practices.

  • Mentor engineering talent and help build high-performing software teams.


Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Engineering Management, Software Delivery, or Technical Program Leadership.

  • 3+ years leading Agile software engineering teams.

  • Previous experience as one or more of the following:

    • Software Engineering Manager

    • Engineering Manager

    • Software Delivery Manager

    • Development Manager

    • Technical Program Manager (TPM)

    • Technical Project Manager

    • Lead Software Engineer

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

    • Application Architecture

    • APIs & Integrations

    • Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)

    • Modern Software Engineering Practices

  • Experience partnering directly with software engineers and technical leadership.

  • Experience managing both project delivery and production support initiatives.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, prioritization, and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, or FinTech experience.

  • Experience leading enterprise modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Agile certifications preferred:
