Job description

Master Electrician
Job Summary:
We seek an addition to our team who can oversee complex electrical installations, troubleshoot high-voltage and low-voltage systems, ensure strict adherence to local and National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations. The Master Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of residential HVAC systems. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to ensure that systems operate efficiently and effectively. The Master Electrician will interact with homeowners to explain issues and solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Master Electrician.
Key Responsibilities:
  • May lead and supervise on-site electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for residential and commercial projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components of HVAC system issues in residential settings including furnaces and boilers, including work on boilers and rooftop units.
  • Pull permits and coordinate with utility companies and local inspectors as needed.
  • Ensure work complies with NEC amp; OSHA standards and guidelines.
  • Read and interpret construction blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics.
  • Draft electrical system layouts and calculate load requirements.
  • Diagnose complex electrical faults using diagnostic tools (e.g. multimeters, ohmmeters, thermal scanners).
  • Safely guide repair of switchgears, transformers, and control systems.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • May assist in install of new HVAC systems and components, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, including assessments, repairs, and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest electrician industry information as it relates to HVAC technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical school training or college degree a plus.
  • Active Master Electrician license or ability to acquire through reciprocity.
  • Expert level understanding of NEC, electrical load calculations, grounding/bonding, and service sizing.
  • EPA 608 (Type II) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Master Electrician; including HVAC repair and installation.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record; ability to meet driving requirements for company vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Demands and Cognitive Requirements:
  • Physically capable of performing tasks requiring lifting 50+ pounds, standing, and bending.
  • Physically capable of working on 30 foot ladders.
