Employment Category: Full Time / Exempt Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Travel: None Security Clearance: DoD Secret or ability to earn Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Responsibilities: The Data Scientist will lead projects focused on the modeling and simulation of smoke and obscurant materials and systems and their impact on sensor systems, both threat and friendly

Use artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve and perform data analysis and modeling efforts. Pursue obscuration research support projects related to data analytics or for which AI/ML algorithms are appropriate Perform modeling and simulation of obscurant materials and dissemination systems such as generators, grenades, and other munitions Consult with other scientists on their projects related to data analytics and AI/ML applications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field Compensation & Benefits: Pay: $125k - $165k Schedule: 40 hrs/week 401K with up to 4% employer matching contribution 3 weeks (120 hrs/year) Paid Time Off (PTO), Federal holidays, and Sick Leave Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Short Term/Long Term Disability Tuition Reimbursement Program Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance 10 years of experience performing modeling and simulation of threat systems/sensors and obscurant systems Experience developing and applying data analytics and AI/ML applications Expertise in multiple programming languages such as Python and C++ is required Must be proficient in planning laboratory and field data collection and analysis efforts Strong problem solving and analysis skills Excellent communication skills in English and the ability multitask, prioritize, and complete work within schedule Bonus points if you have: Master's degree in Operations Research or related field Active DoD clearance Expertise in project management is a plus Experience with military obscuration testing Must be a U.S
