Job Summary:

Data fuels our business.  To derive insights from data, it must be “good” – accurate, consistent, trusted.   We are looking for team members who are passionate about good data and how it enables our consumers to derive business insights.  

The Master Data team within Allegis Group Information Services (IS) is a foundational piece to the good data puzzle – responsible for ensuring our Enterprise, business-critical master and reference data is accurate and adheres to our Enterprise data standards.

The Lead Systems Analyst is an integral role on the Master Data team.  The individual in this position will work closely with key stakeholders to identify and analyze critical business data within the organization obtained from a variety of sources, including but not limited to sales, recruiting, human resources, and finance.


Essential Functions:

  • Identifies best practices and process improvements for data management based on analysis and solicited feedback from IT and business partners.
  • Plays an essential role in the ongoing maturity of the Master Data team through leading, guiding and mentoring the Master Data System Analysts – ensuring the following areas adhere to best practices and are performed consistently:
    • Analyzes and documents critical business data flows from multiple internal and external sources.
    • Researches and documents best practices around data controls and data quality, which will ensure data delivery is fit for purpose within the business line or for assigned system of record or business process(s)
    • Gathers data quality and data standards requirements and translates them into product backlog features and stories/
    • Identifies inconsistencies and sources of data errors within and across systems and recommends and/or enacts solutions to remedy the issues.
    • Ensures data complies with naming standards and data definitions.
    • Ensure the product backlog is up-to-date and prioritized appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the organization to understand data flows as it pertains to business processes, reporting, and advanced analytics to set data standards and improve overall data quality
  • Collaborates with legal, risk, compliance, and information security to identify and create necessary controls, standards, and procedures as they pertain to managing Allegis’s most critical data elements.
  • Facilitates discovery and understanding of business line reporting processes for Enterprise’s most visible and important reports.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with technical and business owners ensuring integrity, accuracy and quality of data used to produce business critical reports.
  • Performs analysis, produce reporting, and collaborate with business lines to help deliver clear guidance on policy.
  • Partners with the Data Governance and Privacy and Protection teams to help enforce policies and ensure compliance with data quality standards.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of IT / business experience.
  • Five plus years of experience in master and reference data tools and technology such as Reltio or similar technologies.
  • Five plus years of experience uncovering and understanding master and reference data challenges and developing best practices for metadata, data quality, and data stewardship.
  • Five plus years of experience analyzing and wrangling data, particularly in a database environment using SQL.
  • Three plus years of experience in tools used to analyze and visualize data such as Excel and Tableau.

 

PREFERRED

  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (any level)
  • SAFe® Agilist (or higher)

The Lead Systems Analyst should be a:

  • Data Enthusiast – Should be willing and able to proactively dig deep and find opportunities and recommendations for data improvements. Should be able to influence key business stakeholders with data-driven insights.
  • Strong Lead – Will inspire and mature the Systems Analysts within the team.
  • Collaborative Team Player – Will champion agile best practices and foster collaboration opportunities across IS, product owners, and business and technical stakeholders to help inject consumption of Enterprise master and reference across the organization.
  • Self-Starter – Should be able to work independently, gathering appropriate knowledge, resources and escalating when necessary. Should proactively seek training and learning opportunities to grow skill set.
  • Strong Communicator – Will facilitate meetings and interact with IS and business partners at all levels. Strong business acumen and communication skills (verbal and written) is a must.  Should be able to tell a “story” about our data.
  • Critical Thinker - Should be detail-oriented and have strong business analysis skills.
