Our Data Asset Management team is responsible for the efficient organization, storage, and retrieval of our valuable data assets. We play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and discoverability of our master data, supporting various departments across the organization. We are at the forefront of leveraging technology to streamline our processes and enhance our data management capabilities, ensuring a single source of truth for critical business information.


We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Master Data Management to join our Data Asset Management team. This individual will be a key contributor to the strategic management of our master data, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and availability across all enterprise systems. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of database architecture, database management, change management principles, and data integration strategies. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing best practices for master data governance and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master Data Strategy & Governance
    • Develop, implement, and maintain master data management policies, standards, and procedures.
    • Lead initiatives to define and improve master data quality, ensuring consistency and accuracy across systems.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define master data ownership, stewardship, and data governance frameworks.
    • Proactively identify and resolve master data quality issues, implementing preventative measures.
  • Database Architecture & Management
    • Design, implement, and optimize database structures for master data, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
    • Oversee the management and maintenance of master data databases, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
    • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to enhance master data management capabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations related to master data.
  • Change Management & Integration
    • Lead change management efforts related to master data initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption.
    • Develop and implement strategies for integrating master data across disparate systems, utilizing various integration patterns and technologies.
    • Collaborate with IT and development teams to design and implement robust data integration solutions.
    • Manage the lifecycle of master data changes, from request to implementation and validation.
  • Process Optimization & Automation
    • Identify opportunities for automation within master data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
    • Design and implement automated processes for data ingestion, validation, enrichment, and distribution.
    • Continuously evaluate and optimize existing master data management processes for effectiveness and scalability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
    • Act as a subject matter expert for master data, providing guidance and support to various departments.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective master data solutions.
    • Mentor junior team members and share expertise in database management and master data best practices.
    • Develop and deliver training on master data concepts and tools to internal stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data management, with at least 3 years specifically focused on master data management (MDM).
  • Proven experience with database architecture and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases) including experience in designing, implementing, and managing master data solutions.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and data architecture principles.
  • Extensive experience with data integration strategies and tools (e.g., ETL, API management, message queues).
  • Experience with data quality tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in master data management.
  • Experience with change management principles and methodologies in a data context.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule in Cincinnati, OH based office..

Preferred:

  • Advanced level degree and/or certification related to data management.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools is highly desirable.
