Job description

Saalex is seeking a Configuration/Data Management Manager in Ridgecrest, CA to lead configuration management and data management activities supporting complex acquisition, software, hardware, and weapons systems programs. This position will serve as the primary authority for CM/DM processes, ensuring configuration integrity, documentation control, and compliance with Government and program requirements throughout the system lifecycle.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100k-150k annually (depending upon experience)

Work Location: Onsite.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead configuration management and data management efforts across multiple programs and Integrated Product Teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management Plans, procedures, and supporting processes.
  • Establish and oversee configuration control boards, change management processes, and configuration baselines.
  • Direct and manage Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) activities and configuration audits.
  • Provide configuration management guidance to program managers, engineers, and Government stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Government, contractual, and program-specific CM/DM requirements.
  • Lead configuration status accounting and reporting activities.
  • Support acquisition planning, milestone reviews, technical reviews, and program audits.
  • Identify process improvements and implement CM/DM best practices.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, metrics, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to CM/DM personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in software, hardware, document configuration management, data management, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing configuration control of technical data, documentation, and acquisition products.
  • Experience leading Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and configuration control processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Government configuration management, data management, and documentation control requirements.
  • Experience supporting large-scale defense, acquisition, or weapons systems programs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR, DoD, or weapons systems acquisition programs.
  • Experience leading software configuration management activities.
  • Experience supporting program milestone reviews and lifecycle management activities.

Security Clearance:

Active Top Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
