Transportation Civil Engineering Project Manager (Design Focus) - Full timePosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Transportation Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in roadway and transportation design, project management, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will oversee projects from concept development through construction, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.


Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Management
  • Lead transportation engineering projects through all phases, including planning, design, permitting, and construction support.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain project goals.
  • Facilitate project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Engineering Design & Technical Oversight
  • Direct and review the design of transportation infrastructure projects, including:
    • Roadways and highways
    • Intersections and traffic improvements
    • Drainage and stormwater systems
    • Civil/site development projects
    • Maintenance of traffic plans
    • Pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction
    • Signing, striping, and roadway safety improvements
  • Perform and oversee roadway geometric design, traffic analysis, barrier warrant studies, and related engineering evaluations.
  • Support aviation-related infrastructure projects, including taxiway, runway, and airfield pavement design.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
  • Develop preliminary engineering studies and project reports.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all project deliverables comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, design standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout project development.
  • Review and approve engineering plans, reports, and technical documentation prior to submission.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and industry standards.
Team Development
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and technical staff.
  • Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support professional development and growth of junior team members.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
