Title: Massage Therapist
Department: Spa
Reports to: Spa Director
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Summary:
The Massage Therapist is responsible for client satisfaction by providing competent and professional service and massage therapy at The Spa at acac.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Performs professional massage therapy ensuring acac's standards of excellence are upheld
  • Gathers complete and accurate information on new spa patrons
  • Keeps comprehensive and professional notes of services and treatments provided to members
  • Restocks and dispenses supplies and products to members and guest
  • Consistently reviews and updates knowledge of Spa services, products and offerings
  • Ensures that treatment room and work space are clean and neat at all times, performing proper clean up and restocking at the end of each service
  • Follows all current sanitation standards for service implements
  • Ensures that assigned shifts are covered before taking leave
  • As needed or requested, assist the spa receptionist
  • Ensures ongoing familiarity with acac programs
  • During any down-time on shift, promote the acac spa and services throughout the club
  • Training provided by acac; maintain current certification for the duration of your employment

Requirements
  • Prior massage therapy experience
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly dependable and prompt
  • Willing to help both within and outside of the parameters of this position
  • Must to able to work the weekend shifts
  • Able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekend and holidays
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification a plus
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, and bend the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds

Education and Experience:
  • Must have a valid Virginia Massage Therapy License
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, and reach throughout a shift.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers.

  • Park in team member designated areas
  • Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
  • Attend mandatory Personal Training meetings
  • Assist with Service Days, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Assist with club programs, special events, or activities, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Promptly respond to work-related correspondence
  • Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
  • Deliver outstanding service to members and guests, following acac's Five*Star principles
