Can people with Ehlers Danlos get massages?

Massage therapists, including those working as Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), can treat clients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, but they should be aware of the condition's effects on connective tissues. It is important to customize massage techniques to avoid overstretching joints or causing discomfort, and clients should inform their therapist of their condition beforehand. Proper training and communication help ensure safe and effective treatment for individuals with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

Do massages lower cortisol?

Massage therapists, including Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), perform massages that can help reduce cortisol levels by promoting relaxation and decreasing stress. Regular massage sessions are associated with lower cortisol and improved overall well-being, making it a beneficial service for clients seeking stress relief. RMTs should be knowledgeable about the physiological effects of massage and maintain proper techniques to support these benefits.

Can a massage help cervical radiculopathy?

A massage therapist can help alleviate some symptoms of cervical radiculopathy by reducing muscle tension and improving circulation in the neck and shoulder area. However, since cervical radiculopathy involves nerve compression, it is essential to consult a healthcare provider for a comprehensive treatment plan, which may include physical therapy or medical interventions. Massage should be used as a complementary approach under professional guidance.

How much tip for a $70 massage?
