We are seeking Associate Principal Scientist, Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) Assay Development to join IQVIA Laboratories at Ithaca, NY.

Job Summary:
The Associate Principal Scientist, Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Assay Development will develop rugged and challenging bioanalytical methods, support method hand-off, and troubleshoot complex assay development challenges. This role will strengthen small and large molecule analysis capabilities through advanced extraction, chromatographic, and mass spectrometric techniques.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop reliable extraction, chromatographic, and mass spectrometric analysis procedures for highly challenging and complex methods
  • Document all project work according to Assay Development processes and procedures
  • Communicate progress and status to the Director of Assay Development and Project Management, as necessary
  • Present method development results at Prevalidation Committee Meetings
  • Independently interact with Project Management and clients to provide project status updates, as necessary
  • Guide Wet Lab staff through clear instructions and communication
  • Provide clear method documentation to Project Management and support analytical staff during the method hand-off process
  • Actively contribute to conference presentations and publications under PK/PD and biomarker analysis
What We Are Looking For:
  • Master's Degree with 6-8 years' experience, or Ph.D. 2-5 yrs experience (industry experience preferred)
  • Highly experienced in Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and biologic sample preparation
  • Advanced knowledge of chemistry involved in method development procedures
  • Experience with regulated bioanalysis, method development, LBA/Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, proteomics sample preparation, and automation
  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Advanced knowledge in Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry theory and biologic sample preparation
  • Knowledge of high resolution mass spectrometry, including Thermo Orbitraps, Exploris, and Excedions
  • Knowledge of triple quadrupole systems, including Sciex 6500, 6500 plus, and 7500 plus
  • Hands-on experience with clinical biomarker analysis
  • Ability to develop and present well-organized Prevalidation Committee Meeting presentations
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $83,000.00 - $173,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
