Position:  Full-time Middle School Science teacher for 2026-2027

Holy Family School in Stow is a K8 school experiencing continued enrollment growth, prompting the expansion of several grade-level classrooms. Rooted in the belief that we "educate the whole child," we recognize that each student is created in God's image and is uniquely gifted.

Middle School Position:

Holy Family is looking for a middle school Science teacher.  This teacher is asked to perform the duties effectively, efficiently, nurturing, and professionally.  This person will teach in a nine-period day for grades 6-8.  The expectation is that the Catholic faith be taught in the classroom, regardless of the subject.  The educator acts as an outstanding role model of the Catholic faith and religion by living both their personal and professional life in accordance with the doctrines and morals of the Catholic Church.

Responsibilities:

  • A strong commitment to the values of Catholic education.
  • Create a learning environment that is safe and nurturing.
  • Confer with parents/guardians, co-teachers, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral or academic needs.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom.
  • Supervise students during lessons and other scheduled times.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, extra-curricular activities, and committees.
  • Perform duties assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Proctoring the NWEA Map Assessment three times per year.
  • Other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Skills:

  • Proficient with the use of Technology with the Google Suite.
  • Ability to develop instructional strategies and activities that are engaging and

educational for students in the classroom.

  • Ability to instruct children in the rules of conduct and the learning of tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various

needs of children and parents.

  • Patience and compassion suitable for working with young children.
  • Developing a positive and structured classroom environment that engages and motivates students to learn and succeed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Elementary Education. Valid Ohio teaching license.
  • VIRTUS trained or willing to obtain
  • Ability to successfully pass a BCI & FBI background check
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Hold or be willing to obtain proper religious certification through the Diocese of Cleveland.
  • Strong management and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional and religious growth.
