Job description

Who We Are
At Sullivan, we're fearlessly curious. We ask bold questions, understand what makes people tick, and think creatively to solve complex problems. Together, we help organizations of consequence build and activate brands that move audiences to action.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Art Director who is, first and foremost, a great campaign thinker - someone who can crack a big idea and carry it through all touchpoints-- video, digital, social, and beyond. You'll be a key creative force on some of our biggest accounts, including American Express, concepting and executing integrated marketing work in close partnership with your creative director and content partners. You'll touch brand expression along the way, but the heartbeat of this role is making great campaigns.
What You'll Do
  • Under the guidance of your Creative Director, concept and lead integrated marketing campaigns- across video, digital, social, OOH, and beyond - from the first brief to final delivery.
  • Direct video creative end to end: concept boards, working with copy partners on scripts, shot lists, and seeing it through production and post.
  • Build tight, generative partnerships with copywriters - the best ideas come from both of you at once.
  • Bring unexpected thinking to every brief and push the work past the obvious answer.
  • Apply and occasionally extend brand guidelines in service of great campaigns - you know how to work within a system without being limited by it.
  • Present and defend your work with confidence and strategic clarity, to internal teams and clients alike.
  • Mentor junior creatives and help raise the creative bar across the team.

What You Bring
  • 8-10 years of agency experience, including significant time at the Senior Art Director level.
  • A portfolio that shows strong campaign thinking across video and integrated channels - not just beautiful design.
  • Proven ability to concept and co-create with copywriters, with campaign work as evidence.
  • Experience directing video: from concepting through production and post, whether TV, digital film, or social content.
  • Comfort working on large, complex brand accounts with rigorous brand standards - financial services or similarly high-stakes categories a plus.
  • A campaign-first mindset - your portfolio leads with ideas that work in the market, not just on a page.
  • Strong typography, composition, and art direction skills; able to flex across visual styles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • A collaborative spirit and a genuine love for the work.

Why Sullivan
  • Work on one of the most iconic brands in the country with real creative latitude.
  • A close-knit team of ideators who bring their full selves to work.
  • Autonomy to work your way, with access to leadership and mentors.
  • Hybrid work model, competitive benefits, and a genuinely entrepreneurial culture.
  • Themed happy hours, game nights, and a collaborative spirit - online and in the office.
