For more information, please visit www.mrm.com.The first job of a copywriter is to have ideas, to see the world in a new way, and to share that unique vision with consumers in a way that they immediately understand. The title will depend on the candidate's experience level and we expect that this Senior/Copywriter will provide inspiration and leadership for their entire Creative Department, and be the trusted consultant on any matters of language arising in the Agency. This role requires the ability to devise original, strategically sound and persuasive copy that is in line with client-approved direction, working with art resources where appropriate.Responsibilities:Attends briefing sessions and discuss Brand, Selling Strategy and purpose of the brief with the appropriate members of the brand/project management teams
Reviews incoming job starts, creative briefs and other forms of project initiation to make sure the team has all the right information and sufficient time (whenever possible) required for the creative team to deliver the best creative solution possible for each client assignment
Where necessary, challenges preconceptions and propose alternative approaches or solutions where these will more effectively achieve the objectives identified in the brief
Works with an Art Director, the Creative Director (or alone, if necessary) to create appropriate concepts
On approval of concept by account team and client, prepares full copy
Takes responsibility for initial spell checking and then amendments to own copy in light of clients' comments
Provides writing support and expertise on a wide variety of media
Write-ups of creative concepts for presentation to clients and internal teams
Creates a team environment that facilitates:
Development of strategic and conceptual thinking
Mutual respect and teamwork partnership among creative team members and throughout the Agency functions
Maintains open lines of communication with all team members
Understands the roles and responsibilities of other Agency teams (including Strategic Planning, Digital and Account Management) and manages their involvement appropriately
Ensures professional presentation of concepts
Maintains effective communication with all relevant internal and external contacts
Keep abreast of both competitor creative work and market developments in areas of interest to client accounts
Expresses thorough understanding of client's business as well as their competitor's
Solicits "the right information" upfront translating to a better product the first time
Provides pertinent information to team members on a timely basis
Manage own time and output in line with deadline and budgetary requirements of the job
Where appropriate work with other Agency departments to identify potential award-winning campaigns with the aim of winning awards
Submit a daily Time Sheet detailing work execution
Develop and cultivate relationships with internal team members, vendors and clients
Proven ability to 'sell' creative concepts to client and Agency staff
Valuable contributor to client team
Can think and act strategically
Education and Experience:5-7+ years of experience within digital marketing or a comparable industry
Portfolio is required to demonstrate creative skills
Demonstrated judgment and imagination for the creation of an advertisement
Experience with online content (websites, email, OLA, etc.)
Experience with print pieces is a plus
Experience in emerging platforms (mobile, tablets, etc.) is a plus
Motivated, self-starter with an action oriented and can-do attitude
Capable of juggling multiple projects, sticking to deadlines and ensuring high-quality error-free output
