Family Therapist
Location: Shreveport, LA
Job Type: Full-time Contract (1099)

Job Purpose Statement
The Center for Children amp; Families is seeking a Family Therapist to provide in-home counseling services to children and families. The therapist will engage families through a variety of programs, including Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Functional Family Therapy โ€“ Child Welfare (FFT-CW), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) empowering them to build stable, healthy environments.
This position will report to the Shreveport, Louisiana office, and will provide clients with in-home/community-based services across the Northwest Louisiana region.

Job Requirements
What You Have:
  • Educational background: Masterโ€™s degree in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology*
  • Licensure: Licensed or provisionally licensed as a PLPC, LPC, PLMFT, or LMFT. Candidates with a masterโ€™s in social work must possess an LCSW**.
  • Any level of experience: This position is a great fit for new graduates, mid-career therapists looking for a change, or retired individuals who are seeking to make an impact in their community โ€“ all while making a competitive wage.
*Those with a masterโ€™s degree in psychology do not require further licensure.
**Due to the independent contractor nature of these positions, we are unable to hire individuals with an LMSW license.

  • Contractor requirements: As a contractor at The Center, you will be required to hold workersโ€™ compensation amp; professional liability insurance โ€“ these will be discussed in the interview process. You will also be trained in CPR, as well as any program requirements prior to providing services.
  • Pre-start date state background check, drug amp; TB tests required

Duties amp; Responsibilities
Client care and empowerment:
  • In-home and community-based service delivery: Provide therapy services primarily in the home environment, engaging families and utilizing available resources and relationships. Services can also be delivered in community settings (i.e. schools, libraries, and other agreed-upon sites).
  • In-person engagement: Primarily conduct sessions in person. Telehealth is utilized only when it best suits the client due to medical reasons.
  • Training completion: Participate in applicable online training for evidence-based programs, including Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Functional Family Therapy โ€“ Child Welfare (FFT-CW), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Client assessment and treatment planning: Evaluate client needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and assist individuals in reaching personal goals.
  • Family empowerment: Support families in building environments that promote stability and utilize each familyโ€™s natural strengths and community resources.
Case and Data Management:
  • Administrative Duties: Complete and submit all necessary paperwork for the appropriate Medicaid plans and maintain accurate client records, including weekly case notes and invoices, intake letters, treatment plans and safety plans, monthly reports, court reports (as necessary), discharge summaries and other program specific paperwork as required.
  • HIPAA compliance: Ensure all client information is handled in compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect privacy and confidentiality.
Collaboration and Supervision:
  • Participate in regular supervision: Engage in supervisory sessions and seek guidance from the Therapeutic Services Supervisor as needed.
  • Professional development: Attend workshops, seminars, and continuing education opportunities for ongoing professional growth.
  • Team collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and provide consultation as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Therapeutic Services Supervisor.

Pay and Compensation Information
  • Job type: Full-time, independent contractor position (1099).
  • Caseload: Maintain a minimum of 16 direct client contact hours per week.
  • Pay rate: $45-70 per direct client contact hour.
  • Other compensation: Signing bonus, two-week onboarding stipend, and annual retention bonus (if applicable)
