A Marketing Web Developer is a professional who combines web development skills with marketing strategies to create, optimize, and maintain websites that drive user engagement and conversions. They work on website design, performance, SEO, landing pages, and other digital marketing tools to enhance online presence. Their role often involves collaboration with marketing teams to implement tracking, analytics, and content updates that align with business objectives.
As a Marketing Web Developer, you’ll frequently work on projects such as developing landing pages for campaigns, optimizing website performance for SEO, integrating marketing automation tools, and implementing tracking codes for analytics. You may also collaborate with designers to bring creative concepts to life and work closely with content and digital marketing teams to ensure websites and marketing assets are both visually engaging and functional. On a daily basis, you’ll balance technical programming tasks with marketing objectives, making your work both dynamic and impactful. This role uniquely combines technical development and marketing strategy, allowing for diverse and rewarding projects.
To thrive as a Marketing Web Developer, you need a strong foundation in front-end and back-end web development, digital marketing principles, and a bachelor's degree in computer science, marketing, or a related field is often preferred. Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, content management systems (such as WordPress), and marketing analytics tools like Google Analytics or HubSpot is commonly required. Strong collaboration, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills help set individuals apart in this cross-functional role. Mastery of these abilities ensures you can build engaging digital experiences that align closely with marketing goals and drive measurable business results.

CAWST is a Canadian charity and licensed not-for-profit professional engineering consultancy teaching people how to bring safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in their homes, schools and clinics, using simple, affordable technologies.
At the heart of everything we do is our belief that when people have their basic water and sanitation needs met, they have the opportunity to succeed. Together with a global network of more than 2,100 clients and partners, we reached over 47 million people in 2025 alone — and our job isn't done yet.
Benefits of Working at CAWST
A meaningful role, making a difference every day for people living without basic water and sanitation.
A workplace culture where collaboration and innovation are fostered.
Rich on-the-job experiences and professional development opportunities.
Strong promotion of work-life balance and flexible work environment.
Do you dream of your work making a difference in the world? CAWST is looking for an organized, curious, and passionate self-starter to join our Global Services team as a Learning & Development Intern.
This role will be connected to projects that support all of Global Services, with opportunities based on alignment between your skillset and the needs of our organization. The scope of work may include:
Learning administration — course set-up and support
Knowledge management — metadata, cataloguing, and organizing our resource library
Measurement — pulling and analyzing data from annual surveys, web analytics, and training evaluations
Research and creation of technical briefs and case studies
Development of learning assets and tools — online modules, presentations, lesson plans, activity guides, and more
Past interns have led independent projects and initiatives alongside their ongoing learning and Global Services work, and have connected with cross-functional teams including Fund Development, Marketing, and Digital Services.
