Job description

Doing business to business, person to person. Payworks is a leading workforce management solutions provider and multi-year winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program. We are proudly Canadian as well as committed to developing world-class products and providing a progressive workplace culture where Doing Right by People is our purpose.

With clients of all sizes and nearly 700 employees, we currently have an exciting opportunity on our Marketing team for the right candidate. Because when it comes to great people, there's always room for one more.

DOING RIGHT BY PEOPLE - IT'S WHAT WE DO
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Go-to-Market & Enablement, the Product Marketing Specialist is a key voice behind how Payworks communicates the value of its workforce management solutions to the Canadian market. This is a writing-driven role at its core - you'll take technical product specifications, feature updates, and competitive insights and translate them into clear, compelling narratives that answer the question every reader is asking: "Why does this matter to me?"

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE PAYWORKS
+Comprehensive employer paid benefits, including a Health Spending Account, for you and your family and excellent pension plan with employer contributions.
+Plenty of professional development opportunities.
+Community-minded culture - Receive two paid days per year to volunteer and lots of opportunity to "Pay it Forward".
+Time and flexibility to meet your needs - Hybrid work model with flexible work options, plus 3 weeks vacation to start, flex time and parental leave benefits.
+Cool perks - Annual Lifestyle Spending Account, fun office environment and events, and more!

WRITE.CONNECT.ENABLE - IT'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
+Craft product & launch communications - Translate technical product specifications, feature updates, and release documentation into buyer-centric messaging. Draft and refine launch communications, product narratives, feature announcements, and release notes in collaboration with the Product Marketing Manager.
+Support expansion & client content - Write and refine messaging that clearly articulates why existing clients should adopt additional solutions. Draft AEO-optimized articles, guides, product education content, and webinar copy that speaks to the day-to-day realities of Canadian businesses.
+Maintain messaging systems - Support the maintenance and updating of product positioning documents, value propositions, buyer personas, and messaging frameworks. Ensure product-related messaging is consistent and current across web, email, sales tools, and client-facing communications.
+Enable the field - Support and coordinate webinar programming for clients and prospects, including live hosting, session materials, slide decks, pre-read documents, and follow-up resources. Assist with the creation and updating of one-pagers, talk tracks, and demo decks that reflect current positioning and the latest product launches.
+Work smarter with AI - Use AI tools such as Claude to accelerate first drafts, refine messaging, adapt content across channels and audiences, and maintain a high volume of quality output. Build and maintain reusable content templates, messaging frameworks, and writing guides that make future communications faster and more consistent.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
+      Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
+2-4 years of experience in marketing communications, content creation, product marketing, or a related B2B role.
+Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce polished, strategic copy that translates complex, technical product information into clear, compelling, buyer-centric messaging - this is a writing-first role.
+Strong strategic communication instincts - you think about how messaging lands with different audiences and can adapt tone, depth, and framing to fit the context and the channel.
+Ability to move between formats with ease: product narratives, client communications, web content, sales collateral, Help Centre articles, and email.
+Highly organized with a systems mindset - you don't just create content, you maintain the foundational documentation and content systems the team depends on, ensuring everything is always current, organized, and ready to use.
+Comfortable and effective using AI tools such as Claude to accelerate content creation, refine messaging, build reusable templates, and scale content production without sacrificing quality.
+Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across Marketing, Sales, Product, and Client Experience teams.
+Eager to understand Payworks' products, buyers, and competitive landscape and to grow a career in product marketing.

 BONUS SKILL SET
+Familiarity with B2B SaaS, workforce management, payroll, or HR technology considered an asset.
+Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Highspot, Asana, Monday.com, or similar CRM/project management platforms considered an asset.

We are proud to support a Flexible Work Plan that recognizes the diverse needs and lifestyles of our people. The Product Marketing Specialist has the option to work fully at a Payworks office or on a hybrid work model, working in the office at least three (3) days a week.
