Marketing Rotation Associate information

What is a marketing rotation associate?

A Marketing Rotation Associate is an entry-level professional who participates in a structured program that rotates them through different marketing functions within a company. Over the course of the program, associates gain hands-on experience in areas such as digital marketing, market research, brand management, and product marketing. This rotational structure helps associates develop a broad understanding of the marketing field, build a diverse skillset, and identify their preferred career path within the organization. Companies often use these programs to train and identify future marketing leaders. Rotational programs typically last from one to two years.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect during a marketing rotation associate program?

As a Marketing Rotation Associate, you'll typically work on a variety of projects across multiple teams, such as product marketing, digital campaigns, market research, and brand strategy. Each rotation immerses you in different aspects of marketing, allowing you to develop a broad skill set and understand the full marketing lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams like sales, creative, and analytics, which helps you build a strong professional network and gain insight into how each department supports overall business goals. This structure is designed to challenge you, accelerate your learning, and prepare you for future leadership roles in marketing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a marketing rotation associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Marketing Rotation Associate, you need a solid understanding of marketing principles, data analysis, and project management, often supported by a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, CRM tools like Salesforce, and analytics software such as Google Analytics is highly beneficial. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills help you excel in cross-functional environments and adapt to diverse projects. These abilities enable you to contribute effectively across various marketing functions, drive campaign success, and develop a broad skill set for future growth.

Strategy and Operations Associate

Maybell Quantum Industries

Job description

About Maybell Quantum

Maybell Quantum builds the cryogenic infrastructure that quantum computers run on. Our systems create and hold the millikelvin environments superconducting qubits require - at a fraction of the footprint and complexity of conventional platforms - and they are in use today at national labs, research universities, and commercial quantum companies.

We are a venture-backed team, with headquarters in Denver and operations in Germany and Finland. The market we serve is early, technically demanding, and moving quickly. The companies that define the hardware layer of quantum computing are being decided now.

The Role

This is the first dedicated marketing hire at Maybell, structured as a broad strategy and operations role. You will own the execution of our marketing function end to end - technical content, conferences, campaigns, sales enablement, brand, and web - working directly with the President and VP of Product to translate strategic direction into work that reaches customers.

Strategy and positioning are set with leadership. Your job is to make it real, and to build the systems, materials, and cadence that let a small commercial team punch above its weight. Alongside the marketing core, you will take on a rotating set of high-priority strategic projects that sit outside any single department.

In a single week you might edit a whitepaper with a cryogenics engineer, rebuild a landing page, design a booth layout for APS March Meeting, and pull together a competitive one-pager for a live deal. If that variety sounds energizing rather than chaotic, this role will suit you.

What You'll OwnTechnical Content & Communications
  • Write and edit application notes, whitepapers, case studies, spec sheets, and website copy that hold up under scrutiny from physicists and engineers.
  • Interview our own engineers and our customers, and turn what they tell you into published material.
  • Own the company voice across the website, product literature, and outbound communications.
Demand Generation & Marketing Operations
  • Own HubSpot: campaigns, email, nurture sequences, landing pages, forms, and lists.
  • Build the reporting that connects marketing activity to pipeline, and keep it honest.
  • Handle booth design, collateral, demo logistics, speaking submissions, and pre- and post-event outreach.
  • Measure what each event actually produced, and make the case for where to spend next year.
  • Maintain a clean, usable content and asset library the commercial team can actually find things in.
Sales Enablement & Competitive Intelligence
  • Build the pitch decks, battlecards, competitive one-pagers, and objection-handling material the sales team uses in live deals.
  • Track the competitive landscape - Bluefors, Oxford Instruments, and the emerging platform players - and keep leadership current on how we win and where we lose.
  • Support product launches with Product and Engineering: positioning inputs, launch materials, release communications, and readiness checks.
Strategic Projects
  • Take on cross-functional initiatives that fall outside traditional department lines - market and pricing analysis, board and investor materials, partner-facing content, and operational build-out projects assigned by leadership.
What We're Looking For
  • Writing ability. You can write. Clearly, quickly, and about hard subjects. You will be asked for samples.
  • Technical fluency. You are comfortable in a technical conversation and unafraid of the physics. You do not need a background in cryogenics, but you should be the kind of person who reads the datasheet, asks the engineer a second question, and gets the specification right.
  • 3-6 years in marketing, product marketing, technical marketing, or a strategy and operations role with substantial marketing scope.
  • Experience marketing complex, considered-purchase products - scientific instrumentation, semiconductor or photonics capital equipment, industrial hardware, or a comparable technical B2B environment.
  • Comfort selling to researchers, engineers, and technical buyers, who are unmoved by conventional marketing language.
  • A bias toward doing the work yourself rather than briefing it out. This is a builder's role, not a manager's role, for at least the first year.

Helpful but not required: direct experience in quantum, cryogenics, or low-temperature physics; HubSpot administration; hands-on design or web skills; prior experience as an early marketing hire or strategy consulting experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $115,000-$160,000, depending on experience.
  • Meaningful equity in a venture-backed company at an inflection point.
  • Performance bonus.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; flexible PTO.
  • Direct exposure to company leadership, board materials, and strategic decisions from your first month.
