Job description

Head of Startup Marketing

Rippling New York, New York, United States

About this position About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @ Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Startups are where Rippling's story began, and they're still one of our most important audiences. We're looking for a Head of Startup Marketing to own and grow our relationships with the venture-backed (VCB) segment – the founders and early-stage teams building the next generation of great companies.

You'll join the Core Marketing team and report to the Senior Director of Product Marketing.

This is a builder's role: you'll own the go-to-market plan for the segment end-to-end, from strategy through execution, and you'll be measured on the pipeline and growth you drive. You and your team will work closely with today’s best founders, VCs, and accelerators to put Rippling in front of startups at exactly the right moment. If you like operating with autonomy, moving fast, and driving measurable growth, this role is for you.

What you will do
  • Own the go-to-market marketing plan for the startup/VCB segment, tied directly to pipeline and revenue targets.
  • Build and run integrated, multi-channel demand generation campaigns across paid, lifecycle, events, field, and content.
  • Develop and scale partnerships with VCs, accelerators, and founder communities to drive awareness and pipeline.
  • Manage and develop a high performing team.
  • Use data to measure performance, prioritize spend, and report on funnel and pipeline impact to leadership.
  • Craft messaging and narratives that resonate with founders and early-stage operators.
What you will need
  • 7+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in segment, audience, or growth marketing for startup or SMB audiences.
  • A track record of owning integrated campaigns and demand generation tied to measurable pipeline.
  • Strong analytical fluency – comfortable with funnel metrics, attribution, and marketing tooling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a gift for storytelling to a founder audience.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and the ability to thrive in ambiguity at a fast pace.
  • Bonus: experience with partner or community marketing (VCs, accelerators, founder communities).
