Job Description Format: In-Person Monday - Thursday, Remote on Fridays Internship Dates: June 2nd to September 11th Priority Deadline to Submit Resume: Friday, February 13th Final Deadline to Submit Resume: Friday, February 27th Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour The Marketing Communications group within Hearst's Corporate Communications team promotes the company, its values and initiatives, its executives and business units, as well as increases engagement across Hearst's internal and external communications channels. These include Hearst's corporate social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter and Facebook); website (Hearst.com); intranet (MyHEARST); news and entertainment installation (HearstLive); 24,000-readership daily newsletter (Hearstlink signup). The Corporate Marketing Communications intern assists in these efforts, which are primarily focused on internal communications

We value different ways of thinking and processing, and this intern will be part of the Neurodiversity@Hearst program, a paid, full-time 15-week internship program for neurodivergent/autistic talent interested in enhancing their skills. This role is hybrid, with Monday-Thursday in our New York office and Fridays working remotely. From June 2nd to September 11th, 2026, interns will participate in an immersive, hands-on experience with structured mentorship and support at a leading global, diversified media, information and services company.

The reasonable estimate for this position is $30-35/hour. What You'll Do: Write and edit short-form copy using a provided style guide for various corporate communications. Update web content on Hearst's intranet (MyHEARST) and external website (Hearst.com) using a content management system (CMS), Liferay

Training will be provided on formatting, content Quality Assurance (QA), metadata, accessibility checks, etc. Conduct audits of MyHEARST and Hearst.com content as needed and instructed by manager. Assist with content updates to other technology platforms the Marketing Communications team manages (e.g., elevator screens)

Support content development for internal bi-weekly company newsletter (CONNEX). This includes sourcing appropriate and relevant content from a provided list of Hearst brands online, selecting stories/videos using defined criteria and current needs writing headlines and blurbs. Compile analytics after each CONNEX issue in a template that will be provided.

Source content aligned with current needs for the daily Hearstlink newsletter. Assist with sourcing content for and drafting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) -related newsletters, including disability inclusion and sustainability, using provided topic outline and examples from previous newsletters. Conduct desktop research for marketing initiatives and support basic administrative tasks (e.g., identifying outdated content, updating contact lists, checking accuracy of 'how to' guides)

Review copy submitted through Airtable, checking for completeness, clarity and alignment with provided guidelines before distribution or further review. Analyze newsletter performance data (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, content engagement) using Sailthru and spreadsheets. This may include manually reviewing data, identifying patterns and summarizing findings into clear, written recommendations

Previous knowledge of Sailthru not required. Where possible, use approved generative AI tools to support tasks such as content drafting, summarization, data analysis, pattern recognition and workflow efficiency. Support occasional press and social monitoring tied to specific announcements.

The intern will join one 15-minute daily "scrum" (status meeting) each day with Marketing Communications team. A capstone-style project will be assigned that focuses on improving the performance of an internal or external communications channel, culminating in a written report and/or presentation by the conclusion of the internship. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, marketing, communications or related field preferred; candidates nearing degree completion or who have gained relevant skills through work experience or independent projects may also be considered.

Ability to produce clear written content and proofread with accuracy. Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style preferred. Interest in learning new software programs and technologies.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT). Experience using AI tools for writing or analysis tasks preferred; programming and building agents (bots) not required. Interest in or experience with basic data analysis, such as reviewing marketing or communications performance metrics, identifying patterns and summarizing insights to inform content decisions

Experience using Airtable (or similar) to manage content workflows (e.g., asset requests, copy review, tracking) preferred; interest in building custom views, reports or light automations to improve team workflows is welcome.
