Job description

Job Summary:

At Velocity, you won't just execute a task list — you'll be mentored directly and given real ownership from day one. We're building an innovative, fast-moving marketing team, and we want someone who takes pride in their work, asks good questions, and grows with us.

The Marketing Specialist drives marketing operations, database-driven content development, and campaign execution for Velocity, working closely with the Marketing leadership, coordinator and marketing Agency partner. This role is responsible for mining Velocity's marketing and CRM data to identify content and campaign opportunities, executing account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns, and reporting on performance across digital channels. The Marketing Specialist supports the Marketing Department, ensuring community management and content execution stay aligned with brand and campaign priorities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Operations & Database Strategy
    • Mine CRM and marketing database (HubSpot, Salesforce) for content opportunities, segmentation insights, and campaign targeting.
    • Maintain data hygiene and segmentation logic to support targeted, relevant messaging across channels.
    • Own workflow design in HubSpot for lead nurturing and conversion, including automation, A/B testing, and ongoing optimization.
    • Manage CRM integrations and lead scoring/handoff processes in partnership with Sales.
    • Coordinate with Business Insights to ensure proof points and experience are accurate, and all marketing materials represent current levels of expertise.
  • Campaign Execution & ABM
    • Plan, execute, and optimize account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns targeting priority accounts and segments.
    • Contribute to execution of digital advertising, retargeting, and outbound marketing programs in support of demand generation goals.
    • Coordinate promotion around virtual events, webinars, podcasts or other digital field marketing activities.
  • Content Direction & Brand Support
    • Maintenance of website content updates, Google My Business accounts.
    • Management of all social channels content via social media management tool with Coordinator support.
    • Direct content priorities for the Marketing Coordinator, ensuring community management and social content align with brand standards and campaign calendars.
    • Collaborate with marketing Agency partner on new assignment creative briefs, review of deliverables, and timeline management for design projects.
    • Support corporate brand standards, templates, and site-level brand materials as needed.
    • Create multimedia content, contribute to content strategy and execution of original concepts to promote the enterprise.
  • Reporting & Performance
    • Track and report on key campaigns and channel metrics; deliver regular report-outs to leadership on performance, insights, and recommendations.
    • Optimize website content, campaigns, and digital ads for SEO; research and implement recommendations to increase organic reach. Coordinate with internal IT/digital partners on quarterly read-outs on performance metrics from Google Analytics.
    • Assist with quarterly business reporting and evaluation of communications/marketing effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Sales, Recruitment, and Site Development teams to align lead generation and content efforts with broader commercial goals.
    • Provide guidance and quality review for work produced by the Marketing Coordinator.
    • Support various internal teams on communications/newsletters
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Organized at a strategic level — able to manage multiple campaigns, data streams, and a direct report simultaneously.
  • Deadline-driven with a sense of urgency, understanding that campaign timing and reporting cadence directly impact business results.
  • Curious and analytical — digs into data to understand why something is working, not just to report what happened.
  • A strong listener and mentor: genuinely values input from the Coordinator, not just directing downward.
  • Ownership mentality: sees projects through from data to execution to results.
  • Reviews work with real care and high standards, not a rubber stamp.
  • Excited to help build something innovative, not just maintain the status quo.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities without needing every detail spelled out.
  • A go-getter who wants to grow their career: eager to learn directly from a leader and take their skills to the next level.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field, preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a marketing role involving campaign execution, segmentation, database/CRM work, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot and Salesforce (or comparable CRM/marketing automation platforms) and Google Analytics, as well as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with Hootsuite or Sprout Social for social channel management.
  • Strong understanding of paid search and paid social, conversion tracking and funnel optimization, AI SEO / SEO fundamentals and digital engagement
  • Basic budget development and management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing ABM or targeted digital campaigns.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an intellectual curiosity in healthcare and pharmaceutical development, and sound judgement in decision-making.

NOTE: The above Job Description is intended to communicate the general function of the mentioned position and by no means should be considered an exhaustive or complete outline of the specific tasks and functions that will be required.  Additionally, specific tasks and duties of the position are subject to change as the Company, the department and circumstances change.  All employees are expected to perform their duties within their ability as required by the job and/or as requested by management
