About the Internship
The Marketing Analytics team is focused on utilizing performance data to optimize our marketing efforts and maximize revenue growth. We are responsible for strategizing and executing retail promotions and digital advertising campaigns.
Our team is looking to hire an intern to work up to 30 hours per week during the fall season. This is a hybrid role (remote and in-office). The intern will assist in a number of tasks, such as: gathering data and preparing reports on various marketing and promotional initiatives; helping to assess campaign results and derive actionable insights; planning and executing digital ad campaigns, including writing copy, determining optimal targeting, and developing creative. This role will report to the Marketing Analytics Director and will work closely with the Growth Marketing Manager and Marketing Analytics Coordinator.
In addition to analytical skills and an interest in data, the ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and a knowledge of books. We are a small, fast-paced group, so proactivity, creativity, hyper-organization, strong communication skills, and attention to detail-while still having your eye on the big picture-are key.
Essential Functions
  • Measure the impact of digital marketing efforts, leveraging internal and third-party analytics tools (e.g. Tableau).
  • Conduct marketing campaign analysis and synthesize findings to highlight trends and share actionable insights with the team.
  • Verify marketing campaign information for uploading to our internal platforms.
  • Create and edit paid advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Assist Marketing Analytics team members on ad-hoc research and analysis projects.
Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize projects based on business needs
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g. using VLOOKUP, creating pivot tables and charts)
  • Working knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau, SQL, and Python (prior experience in a business environment a plus)
  • Familiarity with digital advertising platforms- Meta Ads Manager (Facebook and Instagram), Amazon Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and related advertising metrics a plus
  • Creative experience with Canva and in-app image and video editing (e.g. Tiktok, Instagram) a plus
  • Working knowledge of the publishing industry a plus
  • A knowledge and passion for books and reading
Compensation and Work Requirements
  • This position is a paid internship at $17.00 per hour.
  • This position will be a hybrid of remote work and in-office attendance (at least 2 days a week in the New York City office will be required).
