Job description

Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a professional, observant, and dependable Security Guard to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is attentive, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and staff.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor store premises to ensure the safety of customers, employees, and property
  • Provide a visible security presence and help prevent theft, vandalism, and safety incidents
  • Patrol the sales floor, entrances, exits, and parking areas
  • Respond quickly and calmly to incidents or emergencies
  • Assist with de-escalating conflicts and handling difficult situations professionally
  • Write clear and accurate incident reports when necessary
  • Collaborate with management and team members to maintain a safe workplace
  • Enforce store policies and safety procedures

Work Schedule: Thu-Sat 1:30 PM - 12:30 AM (1-hour lunch break)

Pay & Compensation: $22-25 per hour, depending on experience

Benefits:

  • 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked
  • $2 extra per hour worked on Sundays
  • 1 week paid vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of security or loss prevention experience required
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Good communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong sense of responsibility
  • Valid Washington State Security Guard License (or ability to obtain) preferred
  • Experience in retail or grocery environment is a plus
