Our pipeline is promising in Oncology and Neurology, and following the acquisition of Sevasemten for Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), we are at the very beginning of building out our US Neurology franchise and preparing for our first launch in Neurology.
Role Summary
The Associate Director, Neurology Market Insights will report into the Sr. Director of the Strategic Business Insights team within the US Corporate Strategy, Development & Operations (CSDO) department that oversees corporate and pipeline strategy, business development, business insights, and shared operations among other responsibilities.
The Associate Director, Neurology Market Insights will support the US Neurology business as a pivotal partner in defining, understanding, and developing the strategy and expectations for our first Neurology launch. The individual will be responsible for planning, budgeting and executing pre- and post- launch market research and competitive intelligence to inform the product plans, expectations and strategy.
The Associate Director, Neurology Market Insights will act in an enterprise capacity to engage in active collaboration across multiple functions including Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Forecasting, Analytics, New Product Planning, and US Leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive market/customer insights that guides launch readiness and execution
  • Lead all primary / secondary market research for Sevasemten including patient journey, demand studies, message testing, and tracking studies
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute market research to shape the strategies and tactics critical to successfully meet launch objectives
  • Assist in developing launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Responsible for tracking and reporting KPIs and relevant diagnostic indicators to guide launch execution and future revenue growth
  • Lead competitive intelligence in BMD and DMD
  • Present recommendations, status updates, risks, and recommendations as a key member of Sevasemten launch team
  • Manage vendors (e.g. market research, consulting, CI agency, data providers) as needed to execute project work
  • Work closely with brand team and brand agency of record in support of launch activities
  • Work closely with market intelligence ecosystem within CSDO to ensure that research and information is closely aligned with team outputs (e.g. analytics, forecast) and that deliverables are holistic in nature
  • Lead the pre- and post-launch situation assessment and update for Sevasemten.

Education and Required Skills
  • Minimum 7+ years relevant experience in market research, competitive intelligence, management consulting, and/or decision support in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to think critically about issues and understand context and likely challenges; ability to balance strategic awareness and direction setting with consistent tactical results
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; combines attention to detail with big-picture strategic perspective; navigates complexity and ambiguity to adapt to evolving priorities
  • Strong understanding of primary qualitative and quantitative market research techniques and their optimal uses to inform business decisions
  • Launch planning experience in rare diseases and/or neurology is a plus
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, ability to lead, influence, resolve conflict and drive consensus among diverse cross functional stakeholders
  • Effective resource/vendor management; can determine the appropriate use of internal vs. external resources and delivers results on time and on budget
  • Is flexible, innovative and adaptable. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and work diplomatically and tactfully with others
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business or marketing, or equivalent experience; graduate degree a plus

Travel and Location
  • Boston-area preferred, with an ability to be in office in accordance with company policy (2-3 days/week)
  • Travel ~15% of the time for meetings/workshops with Global (Paris), external conferences, and internal meetings/off-sites

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $201,000. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
