Job description

Job Function –
Manages a team of Commercial Relationship Managers calling on accounts to develop new relationships with prospective customers, retain existing business and promote additional bank services to current customers in the assigned region. Assists team members with complex account relationships. Provides guidance relating to credit policy and complex financing arrangements.

Job Responsibilities –

Supervises team members, ensuring that they are trained, motivated and supported properly to ensure that they achieve sales goals

May serve as market manager for assigned community representing the bank in the market, soliciting business from local governmental agencies, responding to community requests for donations and supporting local opportunities for CRA programs.

Solicits and services Commercial loans in and around the assigned market in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

Ensures the assigned Commercial market is staffed with properly trained personnel.

Assists with strategic planning involved in meeting department’s goals and objectives.

Analyzes complex credits and prepares clear, complete written and oral presentations without assistance.

Manage a commercial lending portfolio of customers, assessing and meeting their business and personal banking needs.

Effectively monitors, administers and maintains a commercial banking portfolio in accordance with Bank’s standards.

Ensures and maintains credit quality in accordance with Bank guidelines and takes direct responsibility for credit quality of the assigned market’s commercial banking loan portfolio.

Attends all Loan Committee Meetings and participate accordingly.

Maintains involvement in various community activities and organizations to enhance the position of the bank.

Ensures that own work is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Related Experience –

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

• 10+ years Commercial Lending or equivalent experience, preferably in a financial institution, required.

• Previous management experience in a financial institution preferred.

Skills and Abilities –

• Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of Commercial Lenders.

• Strong knowledge of commercial non-real estate lending policies and procedures.

• Strong knowledge of lending services and related areas.

• Strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation and commercial banking.

• Strong consultative sales skills.

• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess good organizational and time management skills.

• Must possess ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy.

• Must possess good financial analytical skills.

• Must possess knowledge of computers and computer operations MS Office software.

• Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, ten key adding machine, typewriter, fax machine, scanner and copy machine.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements –

• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

• Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.

• Ability to read and interpret a document.

• Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.

• Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
