What is market access?

Market access refers to the process and strategies involved in ensuring that healthcare products, such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices, are available and reimbursed in a given market. Professionals in market access work to demonstrate the value of these products to payers, regulatory bodies, and healthcare providers, ensuring that patients can obtain them. Market Access professionals often collaborate closely with teams such as regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and commercial departments. A common challenge is aligning priorities and timelines across these groups, especially when balancing compliance requirements with market needs.
