Job description

Job Description Working for BAE Systems supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection presents a unique challenge. You will work on a variety of vessel types and communication systems which present both challenge and reward. The Field Service Engineer position entails installation, maintenance and troubleshooting maritime and law enforcement radio equipment and modifications to OEM or existing radio and mounting configurations. These efforts include cable routing, harness buildup, wire and coaxial cable terminations, and mechanical mounting modifications. Periodic maintenance to include corrosion control are key elements as are the ability to test, troubleshoot and operate associated radios, satellite phones, intercommunications and headset systems. Travel to various coastal sites within the US and Puerto Rico will be required. This position is located in St Augustine, FL. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St Augustine or surrounding areas. #LI-VW1 #LI-Onsite Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High school diploma and at least 5 years experience as a marine electronics technician.
  • Relevant U.S. Military or commercial electronics training.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers license.
  • Experience with Motorola radios to include APX, XTL and XTS.
  • Familiarity with intercommunications systems operation and programming.
  • Repair order administrative functions such as induction and tracking.
  • Communications electronics test equipment experience such as volt/ohm meters, power and SWR meters.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and work on ladders and equipment platforms.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Homeland Security clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • General Radio Telephone Operator License.
  • NMEA 0400 Certified Marine Electronics Installer.
  • Knowledge of Sonetics headset configuration.
  • Automatic Identification Systems experience.
  • P25 radio experience.
  • Two-way Global, IsatData Pro satellite communications.
  • KVL 3000 Plus key loader.
  • R-2400D Communications System Analyzer.
  • Ability to monitor the quality assurance of completed repairs.
  • Experience shipping assets to required destinations.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
