Job description

This company is a newly founded sales unit in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Sales Office to lead the way. As the American arm, a family-owned German engineering company founded in 1916, we bring more than a century of experience in precision engineering, innovation, and high performance power transmission solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity to build something new with the backing of an established global engineering company. You will have the autonomy to shape our North American market and the support of experienced teams in Germany.
Your responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the U.S. sales strategy for products and solutions.
• Identify, qualify, and acquire customers in industries such as industrial automation, packaging, medical technology, robotics, marine, defense, and general machinery (no automotive!).
• Develop existing accounts and build lasting customer relationships.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and technical consultation through quotation, negotiation, and order acquisition.
• Deliver technical presentations and translate complex engineering solutions into clear customer value.
• Build a focused sales pipeline and achieve agreed growth targets.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Charlotte office.
• Coordinate between customers and the companiesthe headquarters in Germany.
• Maintain accurate CRM data, sales reports, opportunity updates, and market intelligence.
• Travel throughout the United States and occasionally Canada to visit customers and industry partners.
• Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry conferences.
• Serve as the primary liaison between North American customers and our German engineering and manufacturing teams.
What you bring
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience in technical sales of drive technology or a related field.
• A proven track record in business development, customer acquisition, and complex B2B sales.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering products and industrial applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
• Strong organization and systematic follow-through.
• An independent, hands-on, and entrepreneurial mindset.
• The ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
