Job description

Manager, Vision Care Inside Sales

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Manager, Vision Care Inside Sales supporting Vision Care Sales Team, you will be trusted to develop and coach Inside Service Representatives (ISRs) and Inside Account Managers (IAMs) to transition into Vision Care Account Manager roles through a structured development process. This role includes virtual and in-field co travels to aid in ISR and IAM field readiness, conducting quarterly business reviews with each IAM on gaps they are covering, quarterly development discussions to address performance gaps and access strengths and actively recruiting new talent pipeline for the Inside Sales team. In addition the Inside Sales Manager will collaborate with the Senior Sales Leadership Team (SSLT), Regional Directors, marketing, and sales operations to align ISR projects with the organization's strategic priorities. The position also involves providing quarterly business updates to SSLT and Regional Leadership Teams. This is a remote-US role, but ideal candidate would be based out of our Fort Worth, TX office.
In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Team Development and Coaching:
    • Guide IAMs through a development path aimed at preparing them for Account Manager roles, with a focus on enhancing field skills and account management capabilities.
    • Conduct regular in-field co-travels with IAMs to observe, coach, and provide real-time feedback on sales techniques, customer engagement, and product knowledge.
    • Hold bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with each ISR and IAM team member, providing guidance on professional development, performance targets, and addressing any challenges.
    • Recruiting and developing top sales talent
  • Performance Management:
    • Perform quarterly business reviews to evaluate performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in each team member's portfolio.
    • Address identified performance gaps with actionable plans and follow-up strategies, coordinating 1:1 meetings with District Managers (DMs) as needed to discuss and align on improvement measures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with SSLT, Regional Directors, marketing, and sales operations to ensure that team projects align with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
    • Deliver quarterly business updates to SSLT and Regional Directors, providing insights into team performance, gap areas, and strategic alignment.
    • Act as a bridge between the inside sales team and broader business functions, ensuring alignment of team activities with organizational initiatives.
  • Candidate will be traveling 70% of the time.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs.; Assoc.+9 yrs.; M.S.+2 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a focus on fostering growth and promoting team success.

  • Analytical skills to assess performance data, conduct effective business reviews, and develop improvement plans
  • A results-oriented leader with a passion for coaching and developing high-potential sales talent
  • Ideal candidate excels in cross-functional collaboration, effectively communicates across departments, and aligns team activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Comfortable presenting business updates and showcasing insights on team performance and alignment with strategic priorities.
