Scope: The Senior Director of QA & QC for DCEM America leads quality strategy, governance, and execution across Data Center & Energy Management products in North America. The role is accountable for product and system quality across the full lifecycle, from customer requirements, design, sourcing, and manufacturing through installation, commissioning, delivery, operational performance, and service, and holds final release authority. This leader will build and lead QMS and QA/QC structures, processes, and governance in North America, ensuring alignment with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. quality standards and compliance with regional regulatory and certification requirements. The role partners closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, field services, commercial teams, and global stakeholders in Japan and the U.S. to drive continuous improvement and deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant solutions that support MHIA's business objectives. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA's long-term business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have at least seventeen (17) years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing in industrial, energy, or data center-related industries, with at least seven (7) years in senior leadership roles managing cross-functional quality organizations.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Education Requirement: B.A. or B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
  • Experience: Minimum of seventeen (17) years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing in industrial, energy, or data center-related industries, with at least seven (7) years in senior leadership roles managing cross-functional quality organizations
  • Experience with final product/system release, acceptance, or quality signoff authority in a complex industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Proven experience in establishing and scaling quality organizations and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to drive quality improvements, manage risk, and lead root cause analysis initiatives
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement
  • Experience working with global teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
  • Proficiency with business and quality management tools (MS Office, ERP/MES, analytical tools)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in modular data centers, power generation systems, or mission-critical infrastructure
  • Experience with North American regulatory and certification frameworks (UL, ETL, NRTL, NEC, environmental/emissions compliance)
  • Certification in quality systems or methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CQE)
  • Experience in global organizations and cross-cultural collaboration (JapanU.S. business experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, digital quality systems, and advanced analytics
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or data center deployments in North America

Working Conditions:

  • Travel: 25-40%
  • Standard Monday through Friday work week; additional hours as required based on business needs
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate, with occasional visits to manufacturing sites, supplier facilities, and customer locations
