Job Summary

The Manufacturing Lead serves as a bridge between the Production Supervisor and Set-Up Operators, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role supports production schedules, assists with setups and troubleshooting, coordinates labor and materials, and promotes adherence to safety and quality standards. The position reduces day-to-day operational burdens for the Production Supervisor and leadership tasks for Set-Up Operators.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily floor activities to meet schedules and efficiency goals.
  • Assist with setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure lines are properly staffed and supplied with materials.
  • Monitor workflow, address bottlenecks, and support operators with process questions.
  • Communicate shift priorities, goals, and supervisor updates to team members.
  • Mentor operators on best practices, cross-training, and efficiency improvements.
  • Perform in-process checks, verify first-piece inspections, and escalate quality issues.
  • Enforce safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
  • Support supervisor with non-conforming products, rework, scrap, and performance tracking.
  • Accurately document production data and report issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist Supervisor directly and weekly in attendance record-keeping activities and documentation through use of Jantek, Insight and BambooHR.


Qualifications

  • 2-year degree required in Business Admin. or similar field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in manufacturing/production preferred
  • Knowledge of processes, machinery, and safety protocols.
  • Leadership or team coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and computer skills (Teams, PowerBI, data entry).
  • Physical ability to lift 25–50 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Flexibility for overtime or shift changes.

Performance Measurables

  • 100% completion of set-ups and first-piece inspections.
  • <2% set-up-related quality non-conformities which result in but not limited to: Disciplinary Action, Internal Corrective Action and/or Corrective Action.
  • 100% accurate and on-time production records in Insight.
  • Timely escalation of downtime and quality issues.
  • Daily use of Microsoft Teams and Insight for tools necessary, updates and communication.
  • Positive supervisor and peer feedback on teamwork and professionalism.
  • Shall not exceed 3 attendance points per quarter.
