Lead Manufacturing Excellence at Martin Engineering

Martin Engineering, a global leader in bulk material handling solutions, is seeking an experienced Production Manager – Belt Cleaner Value Stream (BCVS) to lead manufacturing operations at our Global Headquarters in Neponset, Illinois. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, and advancing Lean manufacturing initiatives while ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of world-class products. 

Position Summary

The Production Manager – BCVS provides leadership and direction for all manufacturing activities within the Belt Cleaner Value Stream. This role is accountable for production planning, scheduling, quality performance, workforce development, continuous improvement, and operational results. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to achieve strategic business objectives and deliver outstanding customer service through on-time product delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all operating activities within the Belt Cleaner Value Stream.
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to maximize plant capacity and ensure on-time customer deliveries.
  • Manage planner activities, including lead time requests, order expediting, planning system maintenance, and daily planning communications.
  • Champion Lean Enterprise principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the value stream.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and manage production personnel, including performance management and employee development.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and support cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 processes and procedures to support quality and compliance standards.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery) metrics.

Qualifications:
Required Experience
  • 7–10 years of manufacturing-related experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on Lean Enterprise implementation experience in a manufacturing facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of supervisory or management experience.
Additional Skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Experience managing production schedules, budgets, and operational metrics.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data.
