Production & Manufacturing Associate

McKenney, VA
Starting at $18.00 per hour

Monday – Friday | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Printing Press Operator/Production Associate to set up, operate, and maintain offset printing presses (such as Komori) to produce high-quality printed materials including notebook covers, packaging, and commercial print products.

The ideal candidate will ensure production runs efficiently, meet deadlines, and maintain strict quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Press Setup & Operation

  • Review job orders and production specifications including paper type, ink colors, print layout, and quantities

  • Set up and operate offset printing presses (Komori or similar)

  • Install and secure printing plates, blankets, and cylinders

  • Adjust press controls for ink flow, pressure, registration, and paper tension

  • Monitor machine performance throughout production runs

Quality Control

  • Produce proof copies for approval prior to full production

  • Continuously inspect printed materials for color accuracy, registration, alignment, and print quality

  • Identify and correct issues quickly to minimize waste and downtime

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine press maintenance such as cleaning rollers, lubricating components, and replacing parts

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and print quality issues during operation

  • Maintain equipment to ensure consistent performance and safety

Production Support & Teamwork

  • Work closely with production teams to meet daily production goals and deadlines

  • In larger operations, assist with training junior operators or press assistants

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating printing presses, preferably offset presses (Komori or similar)
