Job description

Manufacturing Cost Analyst

The Manufacturing Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and controlling manufacturing costs to improve profitability and operational efficiency. The role partners with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting, identify cost reduction opportunities, and support strategic decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze product costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Maintain and update standard costs in ERP systems.
  • Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights.
  • Support monthly closing activities, including inventory valuation and cost reporting.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to evaluate cost impacts of process changes.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to manufacturing efficiency and cost performance.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct profitability analysis by product line, customer, or plant.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Qualifications

Required experience and skills: deep understanding of product cost analysis, strong knowledge of ERP systems, proficiency in variance analysis, familiarity with manufacturing processes, and experience in budgeting/forecasting.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with cost modeling and pricing strategies.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $70,304 to $75,000 annually plus a 10% bonus. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and performance, as well as location.
