Agronomy Operations Manager - Custar, OH
Legacy Farmers Cooperative is seeking an Agronomy Operations Manager to lead daily agronomy operations at our Custar location. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently managing facility operations, supporting customers, developing employees, and driving strong operational and financial performance.
Position Overview
The Agronomy Operations Manager oversees all day-to-day agronomy activities, including product handling, blending, loading, inventory control, and application support. This role ensures the location operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while delivering high-quality service to customers and supporting the overall goals of the cooperative.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
  • Lead daily agronomy operations including blending, loading, product handling, and application logistics
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained, operational, and field-ready
  • Oversee inventory management, product movement, and accurate recordkeeping
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other Legacy locations to support operational needs

Team Management & Development
  • Supervise, train, and develop agronomy operations staff
  • Assign and monitor daily work to ensure efficient completion of tasks
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Promote a safe, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
  • Enforce company policies and safety procedures

Customer & Business Support
  • Support strong customer relationships and responsive service
  • Partner with agronomy sales staff to support customer needs and business growth
  • Assist in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Enforce company credit and operational policies

Operational & Financial Performance
  • Support location profitability through efficient operations and cost control
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and purchasing input
  • Identify and support operational improvements to increase efficiency and performance
  • Ensure accurate documentation of operational activity and inventory movement

Qualifications
  • Experience in agronomy, agriculture operations, or related industry preferred
  • Strong leadership and hands-on management skills
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or ability to obtain
  • Applicator license or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a seasonal, fast-paced agricultural environment
  • Basic computer and recordkeeping skills

Additional Information
  • Standard schedule is Monday-Friday; extended hours and seasonal demands required
  • Work performed in both office and agronomy facility/field environments
  • Employment contingent upon successful drug screening and acceptable driving record
