Job description

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to work at our Springdale, AR Wet Pet Food facility. You will be responsible for installing, repairing and monitoring industrial processing and production machinery as well as executing a preventative maintenance program, keeping safety as a top priority.

Proposed Schedule:

  • Sunday-Tuesday 6pm-6am
  • Wednesday 6pm-12am

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Performs repairs on production equipment, loading doors and docks, waste water equipment, and building.
  • Installs equipment such as motors, grinders, and conveyor systems.
  • Maintains electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and ammonia systems.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
  • Safely operates hand tools, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years industrial maintenance, to include maintaining electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years installing and repairing industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Advanced technical or college training.
  • Experience working with ammonia systems a plus.
  • Stable work history.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Successful applicants must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, bend, crawl as well as push/pull items while working in a fast-paced environment of varying temperatures and with possible slippery surfaces.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed inside/outside in all types of weather.
  • Exposed to water and protein by-products.
