Job Type: Full-time
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Location: Rockwood, TN

Available Shifts

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

3rd Shift: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM

Position Summary

MPP is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support operations at our Rockwood, TN facility. This role is responsible for maintaining production equipment and facility systems under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment. This individual will also serve as a technical resource for customers and suppliers while collaborating with internal teams on continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely select and use basic shop, power, and hand tools (e.g., welders, oxy-acetylene equipment, plasma cutters, pipe threaders, grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools).
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, as well as perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Diagnose issues, repair or replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machines and facility systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
  • Install and maintain power supply systems, conduit, wiring, and programmable controllers.
  • Use electrical testing equipment and material handling tools safely and effectively.
  • Operate equipment within assigned areas and provide coverage as needed.
  • Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform welding tasks (MIG & ARC).
  • Respond to additional maintenance and electrical requests as needed.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Basic PLC experience preferred
  • Proficiency with computers and strong written/verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods

Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Must be physically and mentally capable of performing all job duties in an active work environment
