Job description:

310T Truck and Coach Technician/ Apprentice- Goderich

Altruck International Truck Centres is seeking Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician, or 2nd - 3rd year apprentice under a valid Registered 310T Training Agreement with Skills Trade Ontario or equivalent to join our team at our Goderich location. (33910 Airport Road)

Job Summary:

As a 310T Truck and Coach Technician, or apprentice under a training agreement and supervision, you will be performing repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks ensure that they are in safe and reliable working condition. Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, safeties and repairs on heavy-duty trucks including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Use manufacturer's service manuals and technical data to repair and maintain vehicles
  • Communicate with customers to explain work needed
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet tight deadlines and minimize downtime
  • Attend company sponsored training classes and dealer specific training courses as scheduled by management
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve processes and reduce waste
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in a related field (e.g. motive power/auto technology) an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience as a licensed heavy-duty truck technician or equivalent experience in the industry
  • Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician, or a 2nd - 3rd year apprentice working under a valid Registered Training Agreement with Skills Ontario Trades of equivalent and 2-3 years of experience.
  • Valid G class driver’s license with a good driving record. AZ license an asset.
  • Must have necessary hand tools.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a range of medium and heavy trucks
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and software
  • Experience with fleet management software (e.g. Fleet Complete)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
