Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, tooling, and techniques to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role applies lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance workflows, eliminate waste, and increase productivity. The position involves hands-on technical support on the production floor, project management for new product introductions (NPI), and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions
  • Models, promotes, and reinforces the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Designs and provides input on fixturing, work holding, and tools to meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Serves as a technical specialist in planning, tooling, preventive maintenance, CNC programming, assembly, fabrication, layout, work standards, and manufacturing development.
  • Reviews assembly operations and component designs to verify manufacturing feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintains machining and forming processes to specification and conduct process testing to ensure quality control.
  • Mentors operators on proper process usage and ensure CNC programs are protected from unauthorized modifications.
  • Collaborates with design engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges during NPI and prior to production release.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Rapid Improvement Workshops, and preventive maintenance development.
  • Utilizes CAD tools to create plans, drawings, and layouts for products and components.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, sheet metal, coatings, or assembly.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes, tools, manufacturing, and operations, and asset acquisition.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering techniques and CAD software.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret detailed and complex drawing information to develop time sensitive component set-ups in addition to actual process.
  • Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience and the ability to learn/use new computer programs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and SQL / Access databases.
  • Verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and customer service skills with internal customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a complex workload.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier development, or quality engineering required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Travel:
  • Up to 25%.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
