The Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) is a dynamic community of food producers, manufacturers, suppliers,and service providers. We are the only association that brings together the entire food industry across all segments and verticals. We work to create a collaborative environment that connects industry leaders, experts, and innovators through meaningful networking, education, industry engagement, and philanthropy.

Position Summary:

The Director, Marketing, Design & Communications, is responsible for the development and execution of all marketing and communication plans that drive strategic growth and enhance FPSA's brand as a leader in the food industry. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Director, Marketing, Design & Communications coordinates with other FPSA functions and works with their input to develop programmatic marketing and messaging and ensure message and tone are consistent with the FPSA brand.

This is a hands-on position that may have direct report(s) in the future and typically manages a summer intern. The ideal candidate is a strategic, self-directed professional who excels at building and executing marketing plans for new and evolving initiatives, independently managing a diverse workload, meeting deadlines consistently, communicating proactively, and taking feedback constructively.

Essential Job Functions:

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and lead robust, fresh marketing and communication strategies for new and existing FPSA products, services, events, and initiatives adapting quickly as the organization grows.
  • Assist in the creation, promotion, and dissemination of targeted membership messaging and promotional content; support member recruitment, renewal, and engagement campaigns.
  • In coordination with other teams, plan, design and execute marketing campaigns that drive event attendance and increase event revenue.
  • Create weekly and annual marketing calendars that drive engagement and promote the organization across all FPSA communication channels.
  • Write, design and edit multi-channel marketing content, including emails, social posts, paid advertising, videos and web copy.


Design & Editing

  • As needed, design and/or update a full range of print and digital collateral, one-pagers, custom graphics, web banners, branding kits, event and membership marketing materials.
  • Format designs for brand compliance, accessibility, and usability with a consist look and feel.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver designs that meet organizational goals.
  • Create visual concepts, using software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate members
  • Present designs to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final product.
  • Staying current with industry trends, tools, and software to innovate and enhance design practices.
  • Integrate video elements to augment, enhance, or in some cases, replace written/print communications.
  • Produce and edit video content for FPSAs social channels and the resource library.

Website Management

  • Maintain, manage, and edit the FPSA and FIT website regularly to ensure timely and accurate information to members and prospects.
  • Create web pages for the customer with a focus on engagement, clarity, and organization.
  • Leverage internal and external website analytic tools to track and map out engagement, click rates, and trending data.


Campaign Tracking & Performance

  • Track, analyze, and adjust campaign performance using analytics and reporting tools; conduct ongoing research to inform targeting, messaging, and product development strategies.
  • Present data-driven insights to enhance strategic effectiveness, improve ROI, and identify cross-promotion opportunities and ad placements; support efforts to grow the number of individuals in the database year over year.


Budget & Reporting

  • Create and manage budgets for functions under this positions scope of responsibility, including forecasting and performance tracking; assist in database management and hygiene.
  • Ensure performance data is updated weekly for the all-staff meeting.
  • Execute processes and reviews as required for FPSA billing and accounting functions.


Other Duties

  • Oversee and lead new programs or projects as required in this area of operations.
  • Manage Marketing & Communications summer intern.
  • Act as the main point of contact for HubSpot & Constant Contact.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Canva
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact)
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Snapchat) and social media management/scheduling tools
  • Website management and content management systems experience (HubSpot)
  • Video editing capabilities
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field
  • 7 -10 years of experience in marketing, communications, and design
  • Experience in association, nonprofit, or membership-based organization preferred
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects independently and meeting deadlines
