Job description

TOOLING INTERN (YEAR ROUND)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for Data Entry of tooling orders, running reports from QAD as needed, assist in prepping documents for shipping tools, assist in general requirements as directed by Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Interact with tool engineers daily assisting in documentation tasks.

•Ability to navigate and alter Excel Spreadsheets.

•Participate in scheduling discussions and assist in schedule documentation.

•Assist in evaluating status of delivery of purchased components.

•Run reports as needed in QAD and communicate these reports to the organization.

•Coordinate information between tooling suppliers and tooling engineers.

•Work with Shop manager to assist in closing out complete work orders as needed .

•Assist tool engineers as needed in tracking tool timelines.

•Act as liaison between Purchasing, Tooling engineers and Shop manager in tracking late or missing items from BOM’s.

•Assist in preparation of commercial invoices liaison with finance.

•Maintain required documentation and files.

•All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Attending college and working towards degree in Engineering studies or equivalent training and experience.

•Years of Experience: no specific requirement.

•Travel Required: NO

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

•Knowledge of general computer and office skills.

•Ability to interpret technical drawings.

•General knowledge of manufacturing processes is helpful but not required.

•Ability to learn QAD system and navigate through several menus.

•Strong oral and written communication skills, informing others and presenting technical information.

•High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively team members.

•High level computer skills to include Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
