The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
The Material Flow and Lineside Planning Intern responsible for supporting logistics planning initiatives across the plant. The intern will support series changes and new vehicle launches across both assembly halls, bodyshop and/or with integrating new logistics innovation projects. There are multiple positions with logistics planning that will focus on different areas of the plant.
  • Supporting implementation of autonomous logistics vehicles in the plant.
  • Running of weekly/monthly reporting documents.
  • Lineside Transition Organization and Support for series packages.
  • Logistics parts list checks and maintenance.
  • Head count planning for logistics processes for new vehicle launches.
  • Planning of floor space for part storage (high bay racking, block storage, supermarkets).
  • Planning material flow deliveries for future derivatives.
  • Maintaining BMW layouts using layout software.
  • Future Model Evaluation Run.
  • Dashboard Enhancements for KPI Reporting.
  • Planning implementation of Smart Transport Robots (STRs), Autonomous tugger trains, autonomous forklifts, and autonomous yard hostlers.
  • Planning and evaluating use cases.
  • Planning of routes, points of interest, and call off process.
  • Creation of KPI tracking for performance.
  • Supporting of fault resolution.

Qualifications:
  • Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Programming knowledge preferred.
  • Self-Starter
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 11th - May 14th, 2027.
