Job description

Mechanical Inspector
In this position, you will be an important member of the quality and manufacturing team interacting daily with other inspectors, manufacturing operators, engineers, suppliers, and customers. The Mechanical Inspector works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment performing incoming and finished product inspections and assisting in the coordination of the department's operations and procedures.
Position responsibilities include:

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing mechanical inspection
  • Inspect incoming mechanical components or mechanical components used in the manufacturing process and the finished product
  • Manage/organize component & finished goods electronic inspection folders & data and create AS9102 first articles
  • Provide troubleshooting support for assembly problems on the floor with part # verification/ dimensional verification of poor fits, etc.
  • Process material transactions for inspected material
  • Utilize the database to research component BOM and inventory information.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple immediate demands on your time.
  • Ability to read and work from written instructions and mechanical drawings that contain geometric tolerances
  • Excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office and database systems
  • Good communication skills - oral and written.
  • Inspection experience with calipers, thread gages, plug gages, optical comparators, micro-hite, and all other common inspection tools.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, technical procedures, or customer specifications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers, and communicate with suppliers.
  • Ability to calculate circumference, volume, and ability to apply other concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer 3+ years of experience doing mechanical inspection
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency using GD&T
  • Knowledge of ISO, TS, and Aerospace standards.
  • Excellent Mechanical Inspection skills
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to identify colors, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must pass eye exam per specification
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • US citizenship required
