Job Description
We're hiring an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a leading medical device manufacturing company in Oldsmar. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for an engineering professional with a proven background in medical device manufacturing, process improvement, and engineering management.
In this role, you'll lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, oversee production support, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage equipment validation and new product introductions, and ensure manufacturing processes meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong project management skills and a passion for developing high-performing engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering team
• Provide technical support for manufacturing operations
• Optimize manufacturing processes and production efficiency
• Lead new product introductions and design transfers
• Oversee equipment validation and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Manage capital equipment projects and facility improvements
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
• Reduce scrap, improve quality, and lower production costs
• Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP standards
• Support CAPA investigations and quality initiatives
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Production teams
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and priorities
• Support long-term manufacturing strategy and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related Engineering field required
• Master's degree preferred
• PMP certification highly preferred
• Advanced engineering certifications preferred (CMfgE, CQE, etc.)
• 5–8+ years of medical device manufacturing experience
• Previous engineering management experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects
• Strong knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and GMP
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma
• Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Experience with Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• ERP system experience required
• CAD software experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
