Primary Function
Plans, directs, and coordinates Manufacturing Engineering Support for manufacturing and Welding processes in a manufacturing Water Tank facility by performing the following duties.
This position will work fully onsite during first shift at our Lebanon TN plant plocation.
Responsibilities
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods using data collection, analytical analysis and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and time lines.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning, manufacturing and design staff concerning product design and tooling and equipment needs to ensure efficient product introduction and manufacturing processes.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with Manufacturing Engineering Manager to plan capacities and supporting requirements to insure facility operations and production support.
  • Applies sound ergonomic and safety practices in all functions of manufacturing process, equipment and facilities.
  • Leads cross functional teams in problem solving of production issues.
  • Leads cross functional teams in product introduction.
  • Works closely in a team environment with engineers, plant managers, supervisors and manufacturing personnel.
  • Provides guidance to Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers and maintenance personnel; assisting in problem solving of production issues, equipment purchases and general manufacturing methods and practices.
  • Supervises non-exempt personnel related to Manufacturing Engineer Support.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer or Supervisor; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
