Job description

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering, CNC programming, and maintenance teams supporting precision aerospace manufacturing. The manager will optimize machining and secondary processes while leading new product introduction, cost reduction, standardization, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, maintenance, and technical support personnel
  • Oversee CNC program creation and optimization for mills, lathes, and laser-cutting equipment
  • Standardize setups, tooling, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Partner with estimating and production teams to evaluate manufacturability
  • Lead new product introduction activities
  • Improve machine utilization, operator-to-machine ratios, and cycle times
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement automation or process improvements
  • Support machining, stamping, laser cutting, and painting operations
  • Track cycle time, scrap, OEE, and related performance indicators
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Provide technical training to machinists and operators
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements
  • Support internal and external audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least seven years of CNC manufacturing experience
  • At least three years of leadership experience
  • Multi-axis CNC programming background
  • Experience with process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Knowledge of AS9100
  • CAD/CAM and GD&T proficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with stamping, laser cutting, or painting operations
  • ERP or MES experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or related continuous-improvement training

Compensation

$100,000-$130,000 annually.
